Our Classes... RELIGION: The Holy Spirit Blesses the Church Our second unit focuses on how the Holy Spirit blesses the Church now and throughout history. READING: Inferences In our current theme, students will learn about making inferences while they read. Sometimes, it might even inspire us to find out more when we are done reading our current book. WRITING: Writing Traits There are certain traits of writing that writers consider when seeking to make their writing strong. This week, we're being introduced to those traits: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, and presentation. This is a shared time for students in grades 1-4 to be able to discuss and practice literacy skills at their level and that are focused on their needs. Students may be in any of the four classrooms during this time and may participate in small group reading activities based on boosting their overall reading level or based on improving specific skills. When not involved in these small groups, students will be practicing other literacy skills such as spelling and phonics.
