Our Classes... RELIGION: God the Father's Gracious Gifts This unit looks at how God crated the universe and everything in it and how He gives us the responsibility of caring for it. We also see how God continues to take care of the universe and each of us personally. There memory work test on Romans 8:28 is on Friday. MATH: Using Bar Models with Multiplication and Division Chapter 9 focuses on using bar models to solve different kinds of multiplication and division problems. Lessons this week include...
SPELLING: List 10a - Reference Materials List 10a mostly looks at words that refer to items that help us to find information. Please check the Vocabulary A-Z website for our current spelling list and corresponding activities. My teacher username is 'lgerlach3'. Our 10a spelling test will be on Thursday. READING: Compare/Contrast We are focusing on comparing and contrasting. Much of our reading will be centered around realistic fiction. WRITING: Editing and Sequence We are paying attention to sequence as we write realistic fiction. We also are sharpening our editing skills. SOCIAL STUDIES: Communities Build a Nation Chapter 3 asks the question, "How does our past affect our present?" In this chapter, students learn about the original inhabitants of North America and how and why other people came to America. They also learn about how American exploration and settlement caused changes in the lives of people at the time and how it affects our lives today. SCIENCE: Living Things Depend on One Another In this chapter, the big idea is, "All the living things need energy to survive and grow." We will be looking at the roles of different organisms in an ecosystem, at food chains, and at food webs.
