SPELLING: List 13a - Contractions List 13a mostly looks at contractions. Please check the Vocabulary A-Z website for our current spelling list and corresponding activities. My teacher username is 'lgerlach3'. Our 13a spelling test will be on Thursday. SOCIAL STUDIES: Government, Landmarks, and Symbols Chapter 4 asks the question, "Why do we need government?" In this chapter, students learn how the Constitution provides a plan for the US government and how the three branches of government work. They also find out about different levels of government and about national symbols, landmarks, songs, and documents. SCIENCE: Forces That Shape the Land In this chapter, the big idea is, "Processes on Earth can change Earth's landforms. Some of these changes happen slowly, while others happen quickly."
