RELIGION: God Hears and Answers His People This unit explores the blessings of our connection to God, particularly focusing on prayer and how the Lord's Prayer is a template for us to follow as we talk with God. SPELLING: List 11b - The Prefix un- List 11b mostly looks at adjectives. Please check the Vocabulary A-Z website for our current spelling list and corresponding activities. My teacher username is 'lgerlach3'. Our 11a spelling test will be on Thursday. SOCIAL STUDIES: Government, Landmarks, and Symbols Chapter 4 asks the question, "Why do we need government?" In this chapter, students learn how the Constitution provides a plan for the US government and how the three branches of government work. They also find out about different levels of government and about national symbols, landmarks, songs, and documents. SCIENCE: Minerals and Rocks In this chapter, the big idea is, "Rocks are made up of different minerals, and they go through changes during the rock cycle." We look at characteristics of minerals and rocks, different types of minerals and rocks, and fossils.
