The theme of this school year, "Life Together," brings to mind all sorts of images for me. One such image is the Superfriends, a group of superheroes who work together to keep the world safe. That brought me to decide upon a classroom theme of superheroes this year. Throughout the year, we will be focusing on the special ways that God has made each person to do powerful things for His Kingdom, and we will see how we can work together for good, looking towards Christ as our leader.
RELIGION: God and His Word
The first unit introduces God and His Word, setting the stage for all the units that follow. We explore the identity and attributes of God and hear an explanation of the Bible and how it has come to us. We also talk about Bible study skills and examine our relationship with God according to the first three commandments. This week, we will look at...

A Few Additional Thoughts...
No School on Monday: Because of Labor Day, there will be no school this Monday, September 7th.
Book Orders: Our class will be participating in Scholastic Book Orders this year. Our first book order was due today if you physically turn in the book order. I prefer, however, that book orders be done electronically. If you wish to place a book order over the internet, you may do so through Monday. I am placing a link for our book club on the right side of this page.
Dress code: The students have certainly done a bit of growing recently. Unfortunately, that means getting new clothes. Please pay attention to the length of your children's shorts and skirts during this time. Our dress code states that when students stand straight and place their hands by their sides, their shorts/skirts should at least reach the tips of their outstretched fingers. Thanks for your attention to this.
