This last week, with guidance, the students considered how to construct an experiment and implement it. Students grew excited as they considered how to satisfy their curiosity. Curiosity is a wonderful gift from God. As we approach the summer, I encourage to find opportunities for your children to explore their curiosity, their imagination, and their inventiveness. These are great ways for people to keep their minds engaged and to increasingly value their education as they seek to apply what they have learned. Besides this, godly curiosity honors the amazing work that our Lord has done in the creation of this world. Happy exploring and adventuring while you seek answers to your curiosity.
A few additional notes...
Heifer International: Fourth quarter chapel offerings will purchase an animal (or animals) for people in a needy part of the world. All gathered money will go to purchase either a water buffalo, a goat, or rabbits. A competition of sorts will decide which animal is purchased. All coins contributed to a particular animal will count as 1 point per cent. All paper money contributed to an animal will instead subtract points from that animal. Students in our class have banded together in groups who are rooting for one animal or another. Check out the Heifer International Website for details on how each of these animals helps the families and communities to whom they are given.
Last Library Day: Our last library day was this past Thursday, May 15th. Please help you children to turn in their books on time now that library has ended. I do encourage students to get involved in the library's summer reading program. It can be quite motivational and fun, and kids get free stuff just for reading!
Rummage Sale: Thanks so much to all of the parents who helped at the GSLS rummage sale. I know a lot of work went into the event, and your love and commitment for the school are appreciated.
Field Day: This Friday, May 23rd is Field Day At Good Shepherd. The event will run from 10 am until the end of school. Water events will be included, so please ensure that your children dress appropriately.
