Hooray for Lutheran Schools!
Last week, we celebrated National Lutheran Schools Week, and I am thrilled that you have chosen to place your children in our Lutheran school. What a privilege it is to be able to live in a place where we can send our kids to schools where they can learn about God! Really, though there are many wonderful things to learn about, there is nothing more important to learn about than God Himself.
One of our special dress-up days this past week was Twin Day. It's fun to dress up like each other, but it is so much more amazing that through Jesus' death and resurrection, God puts his own likeness on us. In our Christian walk (and in Lutheran schools), we seek to grow more into that likeness with the help of the Holy Spirit.
A few additional notes...
Report Cards: These went home with students last week Friday, January 31st. Please keep the report cards and return the signed envelopes to school by the end of this week.
Night of Expression: Students are highly encouraged to participate in this school-wide "talent show" on February 27th. This is a great opportunity for those natural performers to get on the stage, as well as a safe time for other students to experience performing. Please encourage your kids to sign up and to turn in their forms soon.
Bethesda Chapel Service: We have the chance to assist Bethesda residents as they attend a chapel service on Sunday, February 23, at 2 pm. If you would be willing to attend, please return the forms that went home with your children on Friday.
Winter Clothes: As the weather continues to be cold, please ensure that your child comes to school in clothing that is suitable and will keep them warm. Students should wear winter coats, hats, mittens, snow pants, and boots when appropriate. Without these items, students may be asked to stay indoors or to stay in a shoveled area.
