Spreading Joy to the World
Our class is all geared up for the Christmas program, We Three Spies. In this program, we see how God can use us to share the joy of the salvation that comes from knowing him. God has a role for each of us to play in His Kingdom, and He equips us to do our part. This week, encourage your kids with the knowledge that God has a special plan for them. Though we may catch glimpses of what that may be, no one knows what that is quite yet. Surely, the shepherds did not realize how they were going to spend that first Christmas night telling everyone about the coming of Messiah. The important thing is for us to be open to being used by God for His will. He has designed each of our kids specially. I can't wait to see how He uses them for His kingdom!
A few additional notes...
Thursday's Christmas Program: The Christmas program takes place this Thursday at 7:00 pm. Students should meet in their classrooms at 6:45. Dress rehearsal is at 10:00 am the same day and is open to the public for all those who are unable to come that night. Those students who are not in the cast of We Three Spies, should plan on wearing nice "Christmas-y" clothes for the performance.
Good Shepherd Christmas Store: Our class will be going to the Christmas store on Friday, December 13th. If your child is planning on purchasing gifts at the store, please be sure to send in the provided shopping list and money envelope as soon as possible.
Next Week's Christmas Party: This will take place on Thursday, December 19th. More details to come soon.
PE at Lebanon Lutheran School: Because we are still in need of a bus, PE will not take place at the gymnasium at Lebanon Lutheran School until after Christmas break. We do not yet know how long after Christmas break this will begin.
Winter Clothes: As the weather gets colder, please ensure that your child comes to school in clothing that is suitable and will keep them warm. Students should wear winter coats, hats, mittens, snow pants, and boots when appropriate. Without these items, students may be asked to stay indoors or to stay in a shoveled area.
Watertown Food Pantry: The Watertown Food Pantry is a non-profit, Christian-based organization created to provide food needs at no cost to those individuals and families residing in the Watertown School District who find themselves economically distressed. Current priority food items include macaroni & cheese, corn, green beans, chicken noodle soup, cream of mushroom soup, canned pears, canned peaches. Bringing actual objects for an offering rather than money is a great way to make giving more "real" for kids. Students are also encouraged to continue to donate money.
