Listening to the Word
This week, our class is studying the story of God calling Samuel. Here, we see the importance of listening to God's Word and responding to it with love, thanksgiving, and obedience. How important it is to experience that Word of God throughout our lives... at home, at school, at church, at work, etc. The examples we set for our kids and the opportunities we give them now impact them for their entire lives. The story of Samuel and of Eli clearly shows the kind of influence, negative or positive, we can have on our children. I pray that as parents and teachers, we can lead our kids in the way they should go so that they grow into adults who love and serve the Lord.
A few additional notes...
January PTL Online Meeting: This has been postponed due to technical difficulties. Watch for this meeting's new time.
Night of Expression: Students are highly encouraged to participate in this school-wide "talent show" on February 27th. This is a great opportunity for those natural performers to get on the stage, as well as a safe time for other students to experience performing.
Winter Clothes: As the weather gets colder, please ensure that your child comes to school in clothing that is suitable and will keep them warm. Students should wear winter coats, hats, mittens, snow pants, and boots when appropriate. Without these items, students may be asked to stay indoors or to stay in a shoveled area.
Watertown Food Pantry: The Watertown Food Pantry is a non-profit, Christian-based organization created to provide food needs at no cost to those individuals and families residing in the Watertown School District who find themselves economically distressed. Current priority food items include macaroni & cheese, corn, green beans, chicken noodle soup, cream of mushroom soup, canned pears, canned peaches. Bringing actual objects for an offering rather than money is a great way to make giving more "real" for kids. Students are also encouraged to continue to donate money.
